Dijon is one of France’s oldest city, the ancient capital of Burgundy and first established as the town of Divio. In 1364, it was the home of the first Valois Duke of Burgundy and was the place of great power and wealth. Dijon is in the Cote d’Or, Burgundy and is now a cosmopolitan city. The historical city center is just 240 acres and is small enough to enjoy and travel by foot.
